- July 5th: 7 lbs, 12.8 ounces.
- July 6th: 7 lbs, 5 ounces (as far as we remember?)
- July 8th: 7 lbs, 1 ounce.
- July 13th: 7 lbs, 12.4 ounces.
- July 15th: 7 lbs, 14.5 ounces.
His head is now 36 cm in circumference, and he's 21.75 inches in length. That puts him above the 90th percentile in height! Go Jolyon, go! :) His weight is only in the 30th percentile, so he's currently a long and skinny guy.
Otherwise, the doctor was very happy that we'd clearly gotten the feeding situation in hand and pronounced him very healthy. Had to have a blood draw to test for PKU, and that made Jolyon not entirely happy, but he was pretty easily calmed down again.
Somewhat related, we've noticed that I'm better at calming him down when he's fussy. Stephanie just smells like milk, I think, and whenever he's cranky because of needing to burp or being cold or whatever, he really just wants to nurse to fix it. It's less bad if he's on her lap and not cuddled to her chest.
It's nice that being the non-gestational mom comes with some perks, too. :) Like being able to log 7 miles yesterday with the jogging stroller while Stephanie is still recuperating. (Don't worry, they were two separate outings, one a walk to the bakery, the other a run around the neighborhood. I'll still do my long runs solo because I'm worried that Jolyon could get hungry if I'm out for much more than an hour, since we don't have a total handle on his feeding schedule yet.)

Go wee guy! That's awesome! (You sure it's just not his hair getting longer?!? Cos that's some hair!). Good work Stephanie that first week after the milk came in was the hardest for me so far, bf-wise (well, until now anyway).
ReplyDeleteWith you on the calming thing. Summer is *much* better than me at it - Ella gets frantic sometimes because she thinks boobie will make her feel better even when she's full. Handing her to Summer settles her down quickly, usually. Usually :-P
