Highlights of the afternoon:
* Jolly sometimes does the downward-dog yoga pose where he's supporting himself on all fours (hands and feet). He'll push himself up to this from a crawling position, and then back down again.
* He pulled himself to a standing position on his cabinet four times in a row. I've seen him do this once before (on the ottoman), but it was several weeks ago and very transitory. He's been pulling himself onto his knees, but today he seems to have mastered the standing position. He really wanted the cassette tapes that were on top of the cabinet.
* Jolly understands the concept of being on "the other side" of a piece of furniture. If he sees the cat walk behind the sofa (or his crib), he will lower his head to the ground to look underneath and see the cat again.
* Priscilla came to visit while we were playing in his bedroom. Why she seeks out a little person whose favorite thing is to grab her and shove his face into her fur, I don't know, but it's really sweet. She is remarkably patient with being grabbed. While she was in the room, Jolly alternated grabbing the kitty with hitting the spring doorstop and making it vibrate - which Priscilla found totally fascinating and stared at like it was a quivering animal. It was like they were playing a little game together.
* The eighth tooth came through recently. Jolly now has four on top and four on bottom.
